“Legislation has placed enormous pressures upon car manufacturers to recycle vehicles that were built even before current recycling processes and good practice could be designed into them, but this has created a challenge for the recycling industry and ELV is what companies like LKM have been waiting for.
We have the plant, management mechanisms and expertise in place to effectively process the vehicles and maximise recovery rates for everything from the obvious – ferrous and non-ferrous metals – right through to plastics, tyres and other materials that used to go to landfill.
