LKM operates from a highly efficient state-of-the-art site designed from scratch by proprietor Gary Eastwood, using nearly 30 years’ experience in the scrap and recycling industry.
The circular process starts with our own efficient collection of waste. The site entrance and weighbridge then leads to a scrupulously managed sorting area, where our experts can spot both the hidden gems and possible contaminants.
If something needs skilled cutting up, we can field star performers who can reduce the most complex assemblies into component metals ready for processing.
Our high investment in the best machinery available, such as our 500-tonne Sierra press then allows speedy processing before materials are trucked out through the site exit.
This highly efficient and effective layout enables the site at Sittingbourne in Kent to handle some 3,000 tonnes per month.
In addition, as part of doubling the site's area, we now operate a fully licensed Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) for de-polluting End of Life Vehicles (ELV’s). Our investment in state-of-the-art equipment means we can maximise materials recovery in this increasingly important sector of the recycling industry.
